Show Me How You Work
Two weeks of customer roadmap sessions, a lot of questions, and a chance to rethink my own workflows. This is one of my favorite parts of the job.

This is one of my favorite kinds of weeks at work.
For the next two weeks, I’m spending time with a customer figuring out where agentic workflows could actually help their business.
I call these roadmap sessions. But they usually start with something pretty simple...
“Show me how you work.”
Walk me through it. What happens first? Who gets involved? Where does it get stuck? And what are you actually trying to accomplish?
Then we get into the questions we need to answer before we start building.
Do you have your SOPs documented? Is your data ready and usable? Where does a person need to make a decision? What would better actually look like for your business?
And sometimes... does this workflow even need to exist?
I love this stuff.
I love learning how a business runs. The little details. The handoffs. The things people do every day that they barely think about anymore.
And it makes me take another look at my own work.
I have plenty of automated workflows. That doesn’t mean every one of them still makes sense.
Apparently “because I built it” is not a business case.
Helping somebody else step back gives me a chance to do the same. What am I overcomplicating? What could be easier? What am I still doing just because that’s how I’ve always done it?
I’m there to help them figure out a path forward, and I usually leave with a few things to rethink myself.
Plus... I just like being in the room with people.
I work from home a lot now. Getting to sit down face-to-face, ask questions, and spend time learning from somebody means a lot to me.
I’m even willing to put up with a little commuting for it. That should tell you something.
What’s the part of your job you get excited about when it shows up on your calendar?
