Hi, I'm the Guy in the Hat.

I'm Aaron Murray. Most people call me Murray, and plenty of people just know me by the hat: a flat cap pretty much every day, and a skull cap once winter shows up.

I've spent more than twenty years in technical training, eLearning, and EdTech, and I went to school for adult education. These days I help companies figure out where AI actually fits in the work they already do.

Hat in the Loop is my home base. I post short takes on LinkedIn and YouTube; here is where those ideas get the room to breathe: longer posts, videos, and a podcast about practical tech, ideas, and real-world tech: AI, AR/VR, heavy equipment, and whatever else I'm into that week.

The question behind all of it: why is this so complicated, and does it have to be?
