Muse Looks Useful. I Still Have a Trust Problem.
I love Meta’s VR and AR products, but giving Muse more access to my data is a different decision. Before a cautious review, I want to hear from people using it.

I use Meta’s VR and AR products all the time. And honestly? I love a lot of what they’ve built.
Which makes my reaction to Muse a little awkward.
I’m interested. I’ll probably review it. But do I trust Facebook, Meta, or Mark Zuckerberg with even more of my data?
Honestly, no. Not at this point.
And yes, I recognize the tension in saying that while using their products. I’m already in the ecosystem. That doesn’t mean I’m comfortable giving it more access to my life.
With an AI agent, I want to understand exactly what I’m letting it see and what I’m allowing it to do on my behalf.
Those commitments matter. I want to understand how those controls work in practice before connecting my everyday data.
What can it access? What does it remember? What happens to the information I share? And how easy is it to remove that information and revoke access if I decide I’m done?
If I review Muse, I’ll likely start with a setup dedicated to testing. Sample data. Limited permissions. No connection to my everyday inbox or business systems.
A separate setup doesn’t automatically make a cloud service private. For me, the point would be to limit what I hand over while I learn how it works.
What makes this interesting is that people are clearly willing to try it. September reporting described Muse reaching the top of the App Store. That tells me there’s interest. It doesn’t answer my questions about trust.
I also wonder how I’d react if the same product came from a different company. Would I be more comfortable trying it? Probably. I’d still need answers about the data, though.
So I’d really like to hear from people actually using Muse.
What’s working well? What do you like? What frustrates you? Have you connected your real accounts, or are you testing cautiously too?
And what, if anything, has made you comfortable trusting it?
I’m curious enough to give it a fair look. I’m just not ready to give it access to everything.
