Big Machines, Family Time, and Community
A family visit to Komatsu during Doors Open Milwaukee and Harbor Fest, with simulators, robotics, interactive demos, and hands-on fun for all ages.

Robotics, simulators, a scavenger hunt, and some very big equipment. Pretty good ingredients for a family day out.
The family and I got to check out Komatsu’s Milwaukee facilities today as part of Doors Open Milwaukee, with Harbor Fest bringing a full festival to the neighborhood.
They had equipment simulators, demos, interactive educational activities, and toys for everyone to play with, including model mining equipment with controls to try.

And yes, “everyone” includes the adults.
I spend a lot of time talking about technology and heavy equipment for work. Getting to share a little of that world with my family is a different kind of fun. And a giant mining shovel is a pretty effective way to get my attention.

It’s always great seeing companies open their doors and invite the community in. Give people a chance to look around, ask questions, and learn by getting hands-on. That’s a great way to get kids and adults curious about what happens right here in Milwaukee.

Thanks to Komatsu and everyone who helped make Harbor Fest and Doors Open Milwaukee happen. A great day to get out with the family and explore our city.
